@karlhigley@recsys.social even stuff like researching genetic causes of autism is extremely harmful to the autistic community because it could lead to detection of autism in fetuses becoming possible, which would likely cause potential autistic babies to be aborted due to the downsides of raising an autistic child, which would decrease the number of autistic people in the world drastically
