I lost my dad in August last year from prolonged impact of three strokes in seven years and deteriorating health. For a long time mom was his primary carer and I think her body is exhausted after years of extra work. In the last few weeks she had started to slow down and we had her see a doctor who suspected it might be GERD or a heart problem. The doc said to check into ER if it happens again within a week. That was two days ago. Last night we had to get mom to ER after more chest pains and general soreness around her upper body. Turns out she had a heart attack. The NSTEMI kind, which doesn’t really look like a heart attack because the heart is still receiving oxygen but in a reduced amount. Regardless it still caused a partially blocked artery which needs to be taken care of. Hospital network shows no available ICU bed across the entire city except for one hospital that’s quite far and we’re still waiting for confirmation from them. She has coverage but we don’t know if it will take care of everything. It’s 4am I haven’t slept a wink.
