@wikkit@mastodon.social Nuclear produces 24/7 and any nighttime excess could be used to drive carbon neutral fuel synthesis or carbon capture. Solar produces when the sun shines. They are not directly comparable. I am experimenting with LiFePo4 batteries right now. If they can be made on a large enough scale they might bridge that gap someday. They have a long enough cycle life to be semi-permanent infrastructure, like a power plant or a transformer.
