HTTP is fundamentally the protocol of the World Wide Web, making it a natural point of intersection between IETF (which focuses on core Internet protocols) and the W3C (which stewards Web technologies like HTML, CSS, and related specs).
Today, the list remains active, with all HTTP WG drafts and RFCs directing comments there.
