Normal ideas are welcome. The chocolate marmalade one was described as “just a normal cake”—which makes sense, a lot of soviet recipes were dope at the time but people are in a totally different food system now lmao. Olivier salad still whips ass though. Mainly bc you can substitute a lot of ingredients, use sauce gribiche, better mustard, chicken, brussel sprouts… Mmmmmmmmm brussels sprouts

Brussel sprouts are amazing. My go to cake is basque cheesecake. Very easy to make and you can add whatever sauce you want. Something normal like blackberry or caramel. Or less so like liquorice.
