Paired with a smaller LLM created language with translation in mind I had good results, albeit it works best with a GPU.
On the web, Firefox built in *local* translation is also adequate for basic needs, example in the screenshot.

I added here https://mastodon.social/@antoniovr/116272831686278201 a toot about #Disroot's Libretranslate instance and the app #TranlateYou which can run several translation services (including the mentioned libretranslate instance, other free engines, proxies of google, etc.). You can choose whether to use one or several services. I show you a screenshot
