@victorgijsbers@mastodon.gamedev.place Another comparison, the continental US. Look how much more detail is in the National Map. Looking at the Google one, you get the impression the US is completely flat with essentially no rivers. It looks like a map that would be painted on the wall of a baby's nursery. I guess the Google one is where they let their boring, lifeless design aesthetic get in the way of transmitting useful information.
