this Rust "ethics should not be a consideration in decisionmaking" shit is not really that surprising considering that they didn't take any kind of stance against all the cryptocurrency bullshit that started flooding the space in ~2018-2020. I get that you can't block people from using a programming language for unethical things but you could at least block packages from crates.io if they have no non-evil use cases
