@quantumsys@tech.lgbt continuwuity doesn’t fix the fundamental issues of the ecosystem, you’ll still encounter a lot of the usual matrix jank, and you can’t seriously expect everyone onboarding to know exactly which servers are the Good Ones

    @zaire@fedi.absturztau.be No, it doesn't fix those fundamental issues, definitely not directly at least, but it might be our best ticket of getting there. More power to Continuwuity and alternative Matrix clients means less power to Matrix.org/Element HQ. As for the knowledge barrier: This is an actionable task that the community can tackle. Think a website called The State of Matrix that transparently communicates these things we've discussed in this thread and recommends best practices accordingly. There's a very real path to solving this. And finally: What else do you suggest? To just give up either E2EE or must-have features and turn to e.g. Signal (which won't replace Discord due to lack of features) or Fluxer (which isn't ready yet, is centralized and afaik doesn't have E2EE)? That's what I mean.
