@gdinwiddie@mastodon.social Not sure I understand your point, but yes, I bet attempts to preserve food went right back to when humans first picked up a stone or something to kill things with.

@98Percent@mastodon.nz Is preserving food not "accumulating surplus for an unknown future?" I don't see a bright line of demarcation between stone age hunter-gathers and people of today.
