3/6 Years ago, while implementing standard requirements for a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), I read a university research paper about a security flaw where signals could be spoofed to trigger false vehicle warnings. It wasn't in my scope.
The safest move was to file the paper away and stick to the standard definition.

4/6 I took ownership of the problem, analysed the threat, and realised we didn't need expensive hardware upgradesβjust a smarter algorithm. I proposed a simple, lightweight authentication mechanism. Continental Automotive not only implemented it, they registered a patent for it.
