@femme_mal@mstdn.social One should never, ever put an app on one's phone. Even the weather apps have been shown to harvest data about you.

    @LaChasseuse@mastodon.scot It's not just apps though apps are basically dedicated info tunnels. It's surfing online - looking for information about topics that can tell snoopers about the user. Example: looking for information about best period products, or pregnancy tests. It's shopping online without paying attention to how metadata and more specific personal data is harvested even through browsers. Example: buying period products each month establishing a pattern, and then suddenly not buying them.
