@secretsloth@mastodon.art Could be it's spreading in the USA fastest ( shocker there 🙄) having made its original mutation in South Africa, seems to have primary symptoms of contraction of severe sinus infection, affects the eyes a lot, optic nerve pain, blocked tear ducts etc, combined with high metabolic drain and fatigue. Just average symptoms, as you know COVID can mess with people a dozen ways.

@lhgmk2@mas.to It missed me luckily, but kid went down with it a few weeks ago, seems like everyone in the country had it almost simultaneously. We mask and all, of course, but kid sleeps in a shared apartment at college with 3 others, they have a corsi rosenthal box in their room, but even so. No system is perfect in a pandemic when they're the only one masking. 😵💫 they're still not right so I passed them along to my specialist just in case there's anything he can do. Ugh.
