I had somehow avoided needing iFixit until tonight.
4-1/2 hrs later and my housemate's PS5 controller doesn't drift and is both smoother and more responsive than before. The third-party Gulikit joysticks that they carry are fantab.
FOURTEEN solder joints per stick holy cow.
