Okay, now I know the word, but I'm not sure what the sentence means. You mean Obama was open to criticism?

I slightly misused it, my bad. It's usually used in context of "it doesn't matter" - ie I meant "criticism matters" but you're right that I didn't use it strictly.according to the dictionary definition. I probably just meant "immune" but wasn't thinking deeply about it.
