It was a thousand for millennia. Why should it stop now? That’s just English barbarism. … the current use was proposed in the late 18th century my the French. Proposed in 1793, and adopted in 1795, the prefix comes from the Latin mille, meaning one thousand (the Latin plural is milia). wiki/Milli- In Italian it goes mille --> milione. Which is og correct, but doesn’t help the situation. What I hate is that ppl will sometimes fuss if I use “k” prefixes.
