I use meow which tries to bridge the gap between the two. The cool thing is I can use any layout. I've been using this ergonomic layout.
The only thing I miss from vim/evil is multiple cursors (also helix's regex search to cursors). I could probably find a pacakge for it. But that's against meow's ethos. Instead, I should get good at beacon/emacs macros
Honestly god-mode (similar feat. in meow) is a must have for me cause it maps modifiers to sensible "layers". I don't want to get Arthirtis from having to C-x M-x C-M-x all day. I just (Space x) (Space M x) (Space g x). It rarely conflict with stock/plugin keybinds much (rip Magit g)
