@kitten@social.elizabeth.cat i feel the same, in my seventh year of transition, but also i still feel very much like im still in the beginning of transition because i dont have the experience of being largely accepted as a woman by the majority of irl people around me. sure, all my friends are awesome, but randos still treat me as a man despite all my best efforts. so i feel like im still in the very beginning of my transition, but all my friends seem to disagree and say im simply in a depely transphobic part of the world. not sure if ill ever believe them while i still live here
BUT ANYWAY occasionally ill get a new babytrans "follower" so to speak but for the most part they dont stick around long anymore. i used to have lots like three years ago but i guess im less actively participating in mainstream trans spaces online than i used to? maybe? idk why i dont draw them in as much as i used to. no one seems to come to me for babytrans stuff anymore. it's just people like me who are similarly unconfident despite years of transition, reassuring each other endlessly without gaining actual self esteem because theres a specific validation we all need but cant articulate
though on fedi ive been told by others many times that i gave them the confidence to transition by living openly as myself and i cherish that. i hope i have a similar impact on strangers irl
