I saw this video(https://youtu.be/rQKis2Cfpeo) with Jobs where he says you need to have an amazing core of the team, which then becomes self-policing in who they let into that group.
I would just slightly adjust that sentence: You need people who care a lot, then they police each other.
Do people at Apple still care as much as they used to?

@jirirbr@mastodon.design As much as they used to? Certainly unlikely for the average to be at the level of the old times, due the sheer difference in company size. But you can at least still see recent examples of excellence in hardware and in marketing. That can somewhat sustain the hope that the overall care is still present. And yes, it is hard when faced with season-26 horrors. At the very least Apple has proved that they cannot execute a redesign smoothly. Maybe that’s it, and it will heal in 1-2 years.
