@fitheach@mstdn.io I think outside of the UK and fellow travelers, it's mostly the "peace sign", beloved by hippies and (checks internet) Japanese girls. I think in sports, some people still use it for victory, especially in it's akimbo variant. The "up yours" inverse variant seems even more local.

@mhd@tilde.zone Indeed. I've seen many photos of John Lennon and Yoko Ono giving this "peace" sign. Although, I don't know how it went from victory to peace within 30 years. Are people still copying this hippie peace sign 50+ years later?
