So with Bitwarden showing their whole ass and enshittifying, what are y'all going to do for password management?

  • @julie@merida.hair I went with Keepass from the beginning and it's totally fine with me. And I am pretty sure it's enshittification-safe ;-) Plus you own your password databases. For example if you want to make sure what should happen in case something happens to you. Or they can be given to a lawyer. I use them with a Yubikey so it's pretty safe and no profit can be made with dependencies. Also changing the password app is a good opportunity to check which are still needed and valid or should be changed ;-)

  • @julie@merida.hair my solution is only good for a certain type of nerd but works well for me keepass database (currently keepassxc but need to switch to keepasschi now that the former is adopting slop) synced by a local git repo

@julie@merida.hair I left 1Password after nearly 20 years and went to Apple Passwords; obviously not a solution for everyone (I don’t even know if there are Windows or Android clients for it).
