The EU should require all EU countries to use truly sovereign cloud infrastructure for storing and processing sensitive data such as financial data, judicial and legal documents, health records, and communication between authorities and citizens.
Truly sovereign cloud infrastructure means cloud infrastructure built, operated and fully controled by European companies which owners are EU citizens.
The US CLOUD Act means that no data is safe when stored on servers operated by American companies. Companies like Google, Microsoft and Amazon cannot be trusted with sensitive data and should be excluded from the public sector involving such data.
The most critical European data should be stored and processed on European infrastructure.

@dawid@vebinet.com Sure, but cloud infra is just a small part of it. Important to be sure but there's much more to digital sovereignty besides just cloud.
