I saw a shitpost earlier about "kids these days" and complaints about "kids these days" going back several hundred years and I just can't stop thinking about it. The author had shared an assortment of newspaper clippings complaining about whatever technological fad The Youth were engaging in at various points over the last couple of hundred years, and had commented on it with some variation on "what if the old men yelling at the clouds were right, and we've been alienating and isolating ourselves further and further from embodied experiences, slowly ceding what it means to be human to a series of machines." It wasn't exactly those words, and the post has since been lost to the ether of The Feed, but it doesn't matter. I can't stop thinking about it.
