If I were a news org, I would jump into Mastodon with two feet as early as possible. Why? Corporate walled social media gardens tipped the power balance a lot towards themselves at the expense of journalism. A shift towards more decentralized social media could restore some of that balance. A savvy newsroom could be here early and trial interesting ways of collaborating: Mastodon is open source so it’s relatively easy to customize to tweak it towards a news-org setup.
