I’m very fortunate to have made some irl friends from online spaces (even married one), but it would be really nice to have that online community flourish instead of wither. I’m hopeful about Fedi, but I do worry that a lot of us a carrying trauma from past online experiences. I know I’m struggling with how much of myself to put out here—too much is a security risk, while too little results in missed chances for genuine friendships.
