I grew up in a small, coastal, Maine town. And sometimes I still see things through that lens.
For a second, I thought these were barnacles. 😅

@danmccullough@ecoevo.social I’m still on the coast and my first reaction after I read that they weren’t barnacles was, “oh, they’re periwinkles!” 😂
