There is an ancient old concept from Japanese zen called 研究不用, which provides valuable life lessons to reach peace of mind as a physicist:
"If your research stresses you out, take a deep breath and remind yourself that the solutions to most problems facing humanity are already known, but noone gives a shit. Your research will not save the world. Now exhale and smile, feeling the sense of ease setting in, as if the ballast of duty was lifted off your shoulders. Enjoy your coffee break."
