@foolishowl@social.coop I think there's still some value in it but, in the hands of the usual techbro (or reactionary British intellectual gasbag e.g. Richard Dawkins) the Turing Test seems to consider largely of a one-sided exchange in which the techbro spends the entire conversation flattering themselves and their subtle appreciation of intelligence and consciousness, and it scarcely matters what the AI says so long as it's obsequiously phrased.
