@hildabast@mastodon.online And I do feel that it wasn't it's primary use, but often if you are dealing with a "bigger" account in a debate in the replies, that big accounts are more likely to QT to get attention to their arguments that weren't getting in their individual replies. The person with a smaller account has no such recourse to "call for backup" given the audience size difference. Is that wrong? I'm not sure but it kinda sucks that some have "can escape a debate" privileges

    @mission_europa@universeodon.com Bigger accounts can do that - and they can also simply retweet replies that they know will be pounced on. Yes, I agree that the power imbalance on social media can result in terrible unfairness. Indeed, being aggressive often grows audiences, particularly ones that thrive on drama and egg it on. There are always people who abuse privileges.
