To be honest: sometimes I use a QT with a 🧵 emoji when it is not clear that the tweet is in fact a thread, or has very interesting comments in the replies. In any other case I always do a regular RT because the original author of the tweet deserves (meant in a positive way!) to be amplified.

When/if we get a reasonable QB on Mastodon, I'll likely do the same here. ...& yes, if I especially want people to engage with an entire thread, I'll add 'thread' or 'start here & go back to the top' or the like - especially if I'm retweeting from the middle of a thread (say, what I think is a particularly important part).
