-> Become friends with people who are at where you want to be in life. -> Accept that any actual outcome in life is never guarenteed - so even if you do everything right, you still might not get it. But if you never try, you certainly won't. -> Don't bitterly blame differences in success on things you can't control, like having rich parents. It might be true in some cases, but whether it is true in any particular case or not, all this thinking does is disempower you, and make you unhappy, reducing your chances of success. -> Be grateful for the success you've found in life even while you pursue something better. If you always delay happiness until you reach some fabled promised land, you will be miserable on the journey and underwhelmed by the destination. -> Realize that failure and stagnation are a normal and natural part of the process, as progress in most things in life is almost never linear. Expect accompanying feelings of frustration, bitterness, and dispair, as these are part of life. But also remember that these feelings, like all things, are temporary and are not indicative of your long term ability to succeed.

First define what "success" means for you.

What does "doing everything right" even mean? Why does it sound like you were taking about religion - the gods will hear your prayers, so do pray but it's not guaranteed to work because the gods might have other plans.
