@dakkar@s.thenautilus.net @joe@f.duriansoftware.com I can’t speak for companies, but there are two relevant shifts I see: LLMs are being commodified, and it turns out large models don’t necessarily make better products. Smaller, purpose-built models might be ran on local hardware, for example. That’s not a definitive answer to your question. But I used to wonder about this, too. And this is how I sleep at night.
