@Oregon_Pacifist@retro-gaiden.com Call of Duty 2 for the PS2 was the first FPS I ever played.  I gave up on the entire franchise at (IIRC) Black Ops 3 (or if not then somewhere around then); it was already slop by then.  It felt like Advanced Warfare could've been a turning point, in a good way, and like they just ran it into the ground anyway.  They did this to themselves.  The only multiplayer map where I can remember actually thinking, "Wow, this is objectively really well designed" was Nuketown.  The rest of them seem like they're designed to intentionally randomize who sees who first, and therefore whose bullets hit first, and therefore who wins said interaction.  That's the other thing: the time-to-kill is always stupid, even if it's not even trying to be realistic.  It's obvious that they want to take skill out of the equation to the extent possible, so that they can then sell you the solution to said problem.
