Oh yeah, I never intentionally use AI, I just noticed the phenomenon in a work Zoom chat.
I do not have any kind of AI autocomplete on when I'm writing code or fiction. For code it breaks focus too much, and for fiction that plus it would create legal questions of copyright I don't want to untangle.

@petealexharris@mastodon.scot @capnthommo@c.im i use a local 30B model with large context window to code. It is so slow that using it is an active choice due to the multi second delay. If I am unfamiliar with what command i need for an operation, I add a comment line to ask it, it outputs it, and i continue coding. Removes the need to search online.

@petealexharris@mastodon.scot @capnthommo@c.im I don't get how anyone could be writing with it on. I already know what I want to write and it trying to guess what is like a someone who does not let me finish my sentence.
