Does anyone know who this fly is? My closest guess is it’s a type of robber fly but I’m not sure, I’ve only seen the grey ones before
Edit: I’m pretty sure this is actually a male hawthorn fly or Bibio marci
I did think robber fly didn’t seem quite right

I looked around a bit more and I’m fairly confident now that this is a male Hawthorne fly, Bibio marci
