@hpk@chaos.social facebook was already “social media for old people” long before I left. And I think the younger generations are less likely to go on traditional big social media in the first place, because they’ve grown up understanding that it’s toxic. But they just moved to different social media like snapchat and now tiktok, which aren’t necessarily better, just different…

@hpk@chaos.social private chat groups are where it’s at now - but I’m sure you”re well aware 😜 But the price is that it requires active engagement, not just passive consumption, and we’ve trained my generation out of the habit.
