Today I traveled to Durand Wisconsin to ride the Chippewa River State Trail and the Red Cedar State Trail to Menomonie and back for 43 miles. The Red Cedar Trail is very scenic and has well packed crushed limestone, so was a pleasant ride. It follows the Red Cedar River from Menomonie to near where it flows into the Chippewa River. Some of my favorite rail trails follow rivers like this one. There was a brewery open in Menomonie just off the trail, so that was an added treat.
