@jerbear@kind.social customer service workers who work for giant chains are not incarnations of the corporate entity. They are human beings who work hard to earn minimum wage, or barely above. They’re not here to make your day worse, their only goal is that your interaction with them goes smoothly. They have very little effective control over the quality and availability of the products, and absolutely zero control over the price.
