@ned@beige.party How does one become a refugee in a country you are a citizen of? They only cease being Canadian when they renounce their citizenship.

@Elegantbeef@mastodon.gamedev.place Yes, the refugee part was tongue-in-cheek because we will have very real reason to flee this province... but realistically, we'll still be Canadian citizens if we were, and could move there freely. I imagine there would be a mass exodus out of Alberta, though... Also being real about it though, a lot of us are struggling financially and moving is prohibitively expensive. The most marginalized of us are the most trapped. I hope for programs that would help those who need to move, and to support us as we look for opportunities elsewhere. If moving wasn't prohibitively expensive, and job opportunities impossible to find from another province, I would have been out of here long time ago. #abpoli #cdnpoli
