@nicuveo@tech.lgbt Right, most of the social networks have at least partially a similar effect. What people in the nineties used IRC for, and ICQ and I don't know what, then other IM services, now we use social networks for.
Even a very highly focused accounts that consistently post information on the same topic, and answer questions etc - you never go _search_ for information there, you go to _ask_ for an answer.
When you consider it, we used to have IRC as ephemeral, and websites as a more permanent way of storing info. Perhaps forums were something in between. I have a feeling that most feed-based social thingies are much closer to IRC than to one's personal website.
At least that's how I feel about it all, for a while now. Glad to see I'm not the only one not caring about my feeds :)
