@nicuveo@tech.lgbt one option is to use a non-Mastodon instance to follow folks via ActivityPub who are on Mastodon (or other ActivityPub services). Something like micro.blog or other services might give you the permanency of your own content you crave.
Or you can bodge together a solution - since your Mastodon feed is available as an RSS feed you can consume it via any RSS reader and then archive it however you want (I’m sure there are ways to automate this). I do this for my bookmarks feed.
