@Casey@theforkiverse.com That is to say, making the Forkiverse a part of the Fediverse would mean BEING on the Forkiverse is a social experience that goes beyond “the people here listen to podcasts I like,” into “the people here are people I vibe with” territory. So when people elsewhere on Fedi see @ theforkiverse.com in a username, they might think, “oh yeah, those guys are cool!” And vice versa. Kinda like how a floss.social user (me) might make people think, “oh, he must like open source!”

@Casey@theforkiverse.com Oh, and it’d probably be good practice for me to mention this: I’d recommend encouraging Forkizens to add alt-text to their pictures (some clients support machine-generated alt-text for convenience) so that visually impaired Fedizens can still contribute to their conversations, and to use content warnings where relevant, such as in discussions relating to tense political topics. This helps make Fedi at large a more accepting and comfortable space!
