@matthewcroughan@social.defenestrate.it @maris@chaos.social @cas@social.treehouse.systems using nixos made me contribute to quite a few upstream projects which i would never have done without it. i think it only works because you can properly patch nixos, while almost any other distro i know requires way too much effort to do the same (especially keeping the patches while still upgrading everything)

@matthewcroughan@social.defenestrate.it @maris@chaos.social @cas@social.treehouse.systems it's also a great feeling when i can drop some patches/hacks again, once they are resolved upstream. just some of them stay for longer than i want them to 😅 (mostly due to release schedules and not because the patches were rejected)
