to be fair it wasn't a complete cobol parser, more like it added or removed the required line numbers, reformatted the code, and automated the calling of the compiler commands so i could write simple cobol code in notepad and get a compiled binary by running a single script, instead of having to do the awful 9 step compile process from whatever development environment the college was using to teach at the time. it was also written in jscript, so not quite javascript but very similar
