@relet@flipping.rocks believe it or not, I once had a telescope. It was little more than a toy, but it was functional. I am interested in how you got these photos, I don't need a really detailed answer, but I do know there are ways for amateurs to hook a camera to a telescope, but I haven't tried.

@indyradio@kafeneio.social This time it did not involve a lot of tinkering, fortunately. The pictures are taken with a ZWO Seestar, which is basically the all in one package: it scans the sky, identifies where it's pointing, tracks the bodies and does a long duration photo stack. The optics are decent, but as with the microscope setup, it's pretty crazy what you can achieve with processing large image stacks.
