The hidden frustrating part for me was having to switch back and forth between Owner and microG profiles. That was until I realized the point of ptivacy-hardened AOSP OSs is to gradually help you transition to only using the maximally private profile. Each time you get a minor frustration you make a mental note to find a FOSS alternative in F-Doid, Aurora, etc that'll fulfill the same role as whatever the Play Store bloatware used to do for you. It's ridiculously easy to get started and then it becomes a simple, cheap, and rewarding hobby. All with the long-term benefit of minimizing constant tracking and profiling. Cory Doctorow would be proud. 😜
