Yay, I&#39;m finally Windoze-free! 🎉 This MS Surface Pro 7 was the last holdout, but I decided today was the day. It&#39;s been a bit of a PITA, but it&#39;s done now. Huge thanks to @techviator for pointing me to this tutorial: https://www.linux.org/threads/ubuntu-22-04-on-surface-pro-7.43071/ It mostly worked, but I did have the same touchscreen issue as others. &#39;FATurbo&#39;s&#39; reply (#13) provided the fix. I still couldn&#39;t rotate my screen, but a quick duck search led me to this fix (for Zorin): https://forum.zorin.com/t/how-to-fix-screen-rotation/71 #Linux #Windows

@DukeDuke@mastodon.social I got rid of the Surface a few months back LOL. Now I have Fedora on a Samsung Galaxy Book 360, but now that the Framework Pro will have touchscreen I will switch to it later this year. But glad I could be of assistance. @frameworkcomputer@fosstodon.org

@DukeDuke@mastodon.social @techviator@noc.social I became serious about using Linux when W11 came out and sucked so bad. Lately I had to set up a dual boot laptop (some of the ham radio stuff I do just requires Windows, sadly), and it really drives home how much the UI is better with Linux. Or more accurately, how much MS has made their UI suck. Now you have me thinking of finding a used Surface.
