@Craigp@mastodon.social Do not interpret this as me defending the name, but you have wildly successful projects with questionable names like git and MongoDB. Stating with confidence GIMP died because of the name doesn't help your argument.

@doragasu@mastodon.sdf.org @Craigp@mastodon.social i was just thinking this, like, there are way more offensive things out there that had way more support than it should to various levels. Audioslutz was sure the most notorious one I can think of. There's also the fact that non-english natives (and even quite a lot of english natives i've seen) aren't aware the word is something else besides the program. Probably due to lack of use. I literally knew about it last year.
