It's probably worse here But yeah, IIRC, in the US (Could probably be the case for backwater parts in Canada, I remember lots of place still stuck with dial up way into the late 2000s), they're stuck with a single provider and that's what the episode makes fun of. No competition = They can do whatever the fuck they want

    @coolboymew@shitposter.world @hj@shigusegubu.club Yeah, it's like gerrymandering but applied to provider zones as if somehow that would make sense (at least beyond say US state granularity).
