"Side sleeping usually occurs in one of three positions, from most common to least:
1. Fetal: curled up in a ball similar to a fetus in the womb.
2. Log: legs are extended and arms straight down, erect just like a log.
3. Yearner: legs extended like the log position, but arms are extended like you're reaching for something."

@lifewithtrees@mstdn.social Mine is more a mix of the first two: Knees bent, but not pulled up. Top arm along my side, like "log," because otherwise my elbow would be at my side and my hand down, twisting my wrist back -- which is bad for it. My arm on the "down" side is "elbow out" with that hand back on my head or shoulder -- typically with covers pulled over my head. Thus, the lower arm keeps the covers off my face, and can keep an opening in the covers for better ventilation when I want it.
